PLEASURES x Mo' Wax

2022 has been a milestone year for many in art , music, skate and streetwear.

Joining the bandwagon is British record label Mo’ Wax. Mo' Wax came to recognition for being one of the front runners of trip hop, turntablism and alternative hip hop during the mid 90s. Founder James Lavelle also founded the trip hop band, UNKLE.

Mo’ Wax and James Lavelle’s legacy is not just limited to the British music scene. This is the man who is responsible for putting out NIGO’s first album, Ape Sounds.

But that’s not all. Mo’ Wax’s association goes beyond music and into the art world as well. Mo’ Wax is also responsible for bringing graffiti artist Futura 2000 into the limelight by using his artworks for many of their releases. James Lavelle and Futura 2000 also share collaborator credits on one of the world’s rarest Nike Dunk drops ever.

Mo’ Wax has also collaborated with the likes of Mark Gonzales and Robert Del Naja from the Bristol collective, Wild Bunch.

LA based streetwear brand, PLEASURES, pays homage to Mo’ Wax in a way that is only fitting. The two joined forces this year for a collaborative drop that is celebratory of Mo’ Wax’s history. The collection features t-shirts, hoodies and headwear bearing album cover artworks and even cool details.

The drop also includes a 3 way collaboration with Japanese music equipment company Roland, with a tshirt and hoodie featuring the specs of the TB-03 synth.

And like true Mo' Wax style the drop also features artworks by the famous grafitti artist Eric Haze.

The Pleasures x Mo’ Wax collection is now available in store and on www.shopcapsul.com. This drop could not have come at a better time, with music festival season kicking off all across the country. These tees encapsulate the history of music so well and make for great music gig fits.
